Tribit XSound Go Review

Tribit’s fine-tuning of the volume leveling is noticeable with minimal vibration transference in your hand.

This incredible portable speaker is an excellent addition to your home entertainment system whether that is a 5.1 or 7.1 configured surround sound..

Are Tribit Speakers Any Good?

For a little known company, Tribit is hitting the stage of audio play devices like a storm.

For the price, you can’t find a better sound quality in a speaker except for SoundCore 2.

If you’ve been reading my reviews, you know I rank SoundCore 2 in my top 10 list for Top 10 Best Bluetooth Speakers Under 50 in 2020.

But, Tribit is a close 2nd in comparison to SoundCore 2.

Let me explain why.

Tribit’s sound engineers work tirelessly to fine-tune and engage their music drivers in rigorous testing.

Dual 6W drivers create a platform for their unique bass radiators. Sound clarity, deep bass, and loudness burst from the nicely designed, compact little soundbox.

Your ears won’t know what hit them.

It’s crazy how little you’ll pay for this insanely good Bluetooth speaker, too.

But…

Tribit has a little work to do on the charging ability of Xsound Go.

Battery Life Is Great Most of the Time!

While the charging issue seems isolated to a few defective units, it’s still a pain in the butt if you’re the unlucky buyer.

reviewers say they get a message that says low battery, and then their speaker drops the sound in the middle of play.

Tribit has figured out this is happening when the battery is getting low. But this issue happens even when the speaker’s plugged in charging.

It’s a nice feature that you can still play your speaker while charging. But the interruption during play is a pain.

Tribit’s customer service team quickly responds when contacted about this issue and replaces defective products.

Since some units have failed to hold a charge, make sure you test this while you are still in the warranty coverage period.

How Long Does It Take To Charge The Xsound Go?

It takes four hours to charge the battery. So you’ll want to make sure you plug the unit in overnight if you’re planning a full day of use.

That’s not a bad thing since the battery life is quite remarkable on the Xsound Go. So it’s reasonable it takes extra time to charge.

Tribit uses a 3.7V, 4400 mAh lithium battery. You’ll get up to 24 hours of use if you are conservative with the volume. Even at max volume, I’ve seen up to 15 hours use.

That makes this speaker great for travel and use when no outlet is available.

These were the only troublesome issues I could find on the Tribit Xsound.

Out of nearly 8,000 reviews, I was impressed with the performance of this bargain Bluetooth speaker, even with a few charging issues.

But depending on what you’re looking for, you’ll want to read further to find out if Xsound Go is right for you.

Mind-Blowing Distortion-Free Loudness

Go ahead and crank up that volume. The rich, full sound and ability to play it on max amplification without distortion make this portable Bluetooth speaker a great buy.

Bass radiators and 6W drivers create a smooth, clear listening experience.

The mids and highs land perfectly every time no matter what genre music you’re enjoying.

See for Yourself the Sound Difference

For a live demonstration to see how Tribit stacks up against another one of my top picks, Doss Soundbox, check out this YouTube video clip.

And, oh, how beautiful that bass sounds when you crank up those tunes!

Ahh, What Beautiful Bass

For a small, portable speaker, Xsound Go puts out a tremendous sounding bass.

Tribit’s signature bass radiators enhance those deep booms and thundering blasts that fall short in most Bluetooth speakers of this size.

I’ve listened to many sound tests of portable speakers, and Xsound Go outperforms other speakers in the $50 or less price range.

I’m even comfortable saying that the bass out of this little box blows away some of the competition in higher price ranges.

I mentioned earlier that I like the Xsound Go almost as much as the SoundCore 2. The bass is one of the reasons why.

I like a rich, full bass that can pick up the lows and mids well. Tribit Xsound Go does that.

When you combine the beautiful, loud volume with no distortion and the bass, you get a beautiful sound.

I’d even venture to say that you could use Xsound Go for a much bigger gathering than most of the Bluetooth speakers on my top 10 list.

I Wouldn’t Test the Waterproof Rating

Many speakers say they are IPX7 rated for waterproofing. Not all are.

Unfortunately, Tribit Xsound Go has the IPX7 rating but falls short in the design.

There is a thin layer of silicone around the inside panel to protect the electronics. But the seal was air tested by one user, and it failed.

It doesn’t have the sturdy construction that I would trust to submerge the speaker. And that should be possible with an IPX7 rating.

The plugs fit into the ports, but they are nowhere near as tight of a seal as Aomais Sport II or Anker SoundCore 2.

Some reviews indicated the user dropped their Xsound Go into the water, and it caused the speaker to stop working.

On a good note, shower splashing, rain, and snow haven’t been an issue. And speaking of snow, this little speaker can be left out in a snowstorm covered in several inches of snow and still work great.

Cold and extreme temperatures don’t seem to bother the battery life or the speaker. So, you don’t have to worry about those outdoor adventures.

The bottom line is that the Xsound Go’s design meets the basic standards of an IPX7 rating.

For regular, everyday use, you’ll have no worries with this great little Bluetooth speaker. And that pool or beach is no problem. Just don’t take it for a swim.

But how durable is Xsound Go?

Durability That Matches Your Big Adventure

The speaker design is a classic oval-shaped box. Rubber supports are at the bottom of the speaker. This means vibration won’t cause it to bounce off a smooth surface.

The front grille is metal and sturdy and protects against minor bumps and bangs. But it’s not dent-proof, so you’ll need to be careful. But it’s plenty hard to protect the dual 40mm drivers.

The speaker‘s housing’s constructed with a high-quality Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) material. EVA is a type of plastic that has a durable and robust feel. Learn more about EVA here.

The EVA provides a more durable construction so you can feel confident transporting your Xsound Go anywhere. Take it on a hike, throw it in a suitcase, backpack, or purse. Xsound Go can handle your toughest travels.

The attached port coverings protect your speaker from dust and water.

I give the Xsound Go a thumbs up in durability. But it’s no Aomais Sport II.

Now that you know Xsound Go can take a beating, you’ll want to know how far you can travel with it.

How Much Range Does Xsound Go Have?

Xsound Go can travel up to 66ft. You can get about 100ft on a beach with a clear line of sight.

A lot depends on obstacles and a good Bluetooth connection. Most tests I’ve read validated the 66ft range, however.

Tribit uses a v4.2 Bluetooth connection. 4.2 Bluetooth Smart sensors make it 250% faster over the internet. This type of Bluetooth also has LE Privacy 1.2, which provides more security and pairing capabilities.

You Can Go the Distance

When comparing Xsound Go to Oontz Angle 3, which has up to 100ft of unobstructed range, there is no contest.

But there is plenty of range for hanging out on the patio with your pals, playing at the beach, or hiking your favorite trails.

Not as Good For Business, But Talking To Friends Is No Problem

Calls are plenty clear with the built-in microphone. You can talk with your friends, no problem. But it might not have the best sound for business use, especially when that quality connection is critical.

You won’t have a delay while you’re trying to hold a conversation, but the speakerphone sounds a little tinny.

Xsound Go is excellent for your social needs and adventurous spirit. But how about using it with your home entertainment system?

Excellent Sound, but The Logo Is A No Go

Remember how I said I would tell you more about the giant logo plastered on the front of the speaker? Well, it turns some people off.

The design of the Xsound Go isn’t much to get excited about with its generic look. But I’m guessing you won’t be trying to win any decorating contests with the speaker.

It may not be an issue for you. But the white lettered logo came up many times in the reviews. So it bothers some folks. I thought I’d better fill you in on that complaint.

Yikes on That White Logo

This situation reminded me of the reviews on Anker SoundCore 2’s logo. Anker toned their logo down, and that seemed to make people happier. Tribit might want to follow Anker’s lead in this area.

Xsound Go has two color choices, black and blue. The blue speaker has a more subtle black lettering on the front. On the black option, the logo has white lettering.

The white letters fill almost the whole front of the speaker on the black speaker. It makes the speaker look cheap. And if you want to use it with your home decor, you might think about getting the blue one.

That’s, of course, if blue goes with your color scheme.

Let’s face it; the sound is the essential part. And when Xsound Go pairs with your surround sound, you’ll forget about the logo.

How Will Xsound Go Perform with My Surround Sound?

Pairing is effortless with Xsound Go. I’ll cover more on the operation a little later. But you can pair two Xsound Go’s together and get an excellent stereo sound.

You can pair Xsound Go with most Bluetooth compatible devices. It’s an excellent addition to your home entertainment and allows you to go anywhere within your home and outside with the 66ft range.

Xsound Go is perfect for that patio party or just sitting with your friends enjoying some great music together.

Now let’s look at what comes in the box.

Just the Basics In This Box

Warranties are essential. And the most crucial thing that comes with your Xsound Go is protection and excellent service.

You’re Xsound Go Is Covered

You get an 18-month warranty and excellent customer service.

If you experience any of the issues we covered in this review, Tribit takes care of you. The long coverage period gives you plenty of time to figure out how well your speaker is going to perform.

You can make your purchase worry-free if Xsound Go is for you.

Customer service received extremely high marks for Tribit.

Defective units are replaced hassle-free returns for qualifying issues.

If you think something isn’t right with your speaker, make sure you contact Tribit right away. They back their products and make it right if something goes wrong.

What Else Do You Get?

Your speaker comes in an orange-colored box with one micro USB charging cable.

The Xsound Go has a lanyard that’s great for extra portability.

It’s pretty basic.

Make sure you read the manual. Operation is effortless, but things like the pairing, troubleshooting, and do’s and don’ts are helpful tips, so you get the most out of your investment.

The speaker fits comfortably in your hand, weighing 13.4oz and measuring 6.7 x 2.2 x 2.3 inches.

It’s slightly larger than the Anker Soundcore 2 but still small enough to fit it in a backpack, purse, or most fanny packs.

The nice, large buttons are easy to see and feel making operation simple.

Also included are:

  • A built-in mic for utilizing the touch-free calling feature.
  • A built-in Lithium-ion battery.
  • A user’s manual
  • An auxiliary port, but you’ll need to purchase the Aux cable separately.

If you’ve read my other reviews, you’ll see I’m not a fan of manufacturers not including the auxiliary cables. But for the price of this great speaker, I’ll overlook that here.

Optional Extras

Some optional items to consider if you can splurge are a travel case (Check it out on Amazon) and an Auxiliary audio cable (On Amazon).

Let’s see how easy it is to operate an Xsound Go.

Operation Couldn’t Be Easier

Pairing the Xsound Go is about the same as most of these portable Bluetooth speakers.

Select Bluetooth on your phone settings, find your device, select it, and your device pairs automatically when your speaker connects.

A blinking blue light indicates pairing, and once paired, the light turns solid blue and a sound signals connection. You’re ready to play your favorite audio.

Check out this video to see how easy it is to set up your device.

You’ll hear a great sound demonstration that validates everything I love about the Xsound Go.

Let’s look at what things I like and what I don’t.

Where I Stand on The Tribit Xsound Go

Tribit Xsound Go – What I Like

  • Incredible sound purity and clarity for a small speaker.
  • Incredible bass
  • Lightweight design is fantastic for traveling.
  • Its ease of connecting to Bluetooth compatible devices is fantastic.

Tribit Xsound Go – What I Don’t Like

  • It can have issues holding a charge. But if you contact Tribit within the 18-month replacement warranty period, you’re more likely to get your defective unit replaced.
  • It doesn’t come with an auxiliary cable.
  • Giant logo Tribit plasters across the front cover.
  • It’s waterproof but claims of issues when submerged are disappointing.

Tribit Xsound – Go Who It’s Best For?

You love chilling to your favorite music with your friends. Relaxing in your comfy chair with a nice glass of wine is your favorite downtime.

You travel a lot, and you want something that is lightweight but makes you feel like you’re at home when you listen to your music.

You’re on a tight budget, but you don’t want your Bluetooth speaker to sound like you didn’t spend much money on it.

For the price, this little speaker has a fantastic output. Now that you know about things like the design and sound quality, you can be confident in your choice to invest in the Xsound Go. Take a look at the Tribit Xsound Go on Amazon
