Aduro Bluetooth Speakers Review: The Ultimate Guide

Over $7 billion was spent on Bluetooth speakers last year, with more than 164 million sold. A search on Amazon for ‘Bluetooth speaker’ returns over 4,000 results alone.

So how can you choose what Bluetooth speaker to buy?

Well, in this Aduro Bluetooth Speakers Review, I hope to make things easier for you.

Aduro, based in New Jersey, aims to create products with ‘style and flair that keep things fun and modern.’

And they’ve succeeded, establishing themselves as one of the leading brands of inexpensive Bluetooth speakers.

What do I like about the Aduro AMPLIFY LED?

  • Funky light show
  • Compact size
  • Decent battery

What don’t I like about the Aduro AMPLIFY LED?

  • Could be louder
  • Annoying beeping when battery fully charged
  • Cannot pair two speakers

What do you get alongside the Aduro AMPLIFY LED in the box?

  • Micro-USB charging cable

How well is the Aduro AMPLIFY LED built and designed?

The Aduro AMPLIFY LED  looks somewhat like a large soda can, making it easy to grasp. It also feels solidly built, despite its lightness. At 6.7 ounces, it’s light enough to shove in your jacket pocket or rucksack and not notice. It’s also small enough at only 6 x 3.8 x 3.5 inches.

It only comes in black, but then again, it has a built-in LED light show, so you don’t need the speaker colored.

It has a minimalist set of controls on the top:

  • Play/ Stop
  • Next track
  • LED selection
  • Previous Track

And an ON/OFF switch on the side as well as a USB point. Finally, there is a built-in microphone so you can use it as a hands-free speakerphone.

What does the Aduro AMPLIFY LED sound like?

It has one 3-watt driver, which, for such a small device, delivers a reasonable sound level.

The bass is adequate for pop or maybe jazz, but if you’re into anything bass-heavy, you’re going to notice the lack of low end.

Similarly, the treble can be a little tinny at the top end, but for a budget device like this, it’s pretty good.

Overall, the sound is better than many similarly priced Bluetooth speakers.

What is the Aduro AMPLIFY LED light show like?

In keeping with Auduro’s aim to create devices with fun and flair, the AMPLIFY LED light show is a great extra feature.

It can be programmed for several different effects or deactivated to use it as a typical Bluetooth speaker.

The only niggle I have is that the lights could be brighter, but then again, it would probably flatten the battery quicker.

How long does the Aduro AMPLIFY LED battery last?

With its 800mAh rechargeable battery, you get up to 8 hours of music streaming on a full charge. Recharging takes an hour or two.

Is the Aduro AMPLIFY LED waterproof?

No. If you want a waterproof speaker, consider the Aduro AquaSound WSP20 Shower Speaker or the Aduro Wireless Portable Bluetooth Speaker, both reviewed later on.

How do I connect my Aduro AMPLIFY LED Bluetooth speaker?

There’s no audio-in to connect the AMPLIFY LED; it’s a true Bluetooth-only device. It supports all Smartphones and Tablets, Including Apple iPhone, iPad, Galaxy, Android, and all Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Connecting is easy, and as with all these devices, there’s a 33-foot range.

Is the Aduro AMPLIFY LED good value?

Yes. There are no similarly-priced Bluetooth speakers out there that also include a light show. The OontZ Angle Solo on Amazon is 30% more and has no lighting.

Aduro AquaSound WSP20 Shower Speaker, Portable Waterproof Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

What do I like about the Aduro AquaSound WSP20?

  • Waterproof – duh!
  • Funky colors
  • Can take calls in the shower!

What don’t I like about the Aduro AquaSound WSP20?

  • Suction cup could be more ‘sucky’
  • Sound needs to be a little louder for a power shower!
  • Nothing else, really

What do you get alongside the Aduro AquaSound WSP20 in the box?

  • Micro-USB charging cable
  • User guide

How well is the Aduro AquaSound WSP20 built and designed?

It fits into the palm of your hand and feels nice. Of course, it doesn’t matter because the whole point is you attach it to your shower wall. That said, it would equally be at home on a boat or the side of a pool.

It weighs only 5.6 ounces and measures 3.4 x 3.4 x 1.5 inches. There’s a funky range of design  including:

  • Black
  • Black giraffe
  • Cabana
  • Hearts
  • Pink
  • Purple Zebra
  • Square
  • White

Any Aduro AquaSound Bluetooth shower speaker review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning that the Amazon page also shows mermaids and fishing boats. Still, there doesn’t seem to be an option to buy these last two designs.

The Aduro AquaSound Bluetooth shower speaker has the usual Bluetooth controls on the front:

  • Power ON/OFF
  • Play/ Pause
  • Next track/Volume up
  • Previous Track/Volume down
  • Answer/End call

There’s also a USB and mains charger point on the side.

What does the Aduro AquaSound WSP20 sound like?

For an inexpensive Bluetooth shower speaker, the Aduro Aqua Bluetooth shower speaker sounds pretty good. You can’t exactly expect it to kick out any decent bass, but I’ve had PC speakers that have less bottom end.

The sound is undoubtedly clear and loud enough to hear above the noise of an average shower. And it works fine if you are going to use it to answer calls in the shower.

How long does the AquaSound WSP20 battery last?

It doesn’t state the size of the battery, or how long it lasts, but from other similar Aduro Bluetooth speakers I imagine the Aduro AquaSound Bluetooth speaker has a rechargeable of around 800mAh.

After a week of using it in the shower for about an hour a day, it needed recharging, which took just over an hour.

Is the Aduro AquaSound WSP20 waterproof?

Yes, the Aduro AquaSound Bluetooth shower speaker IPX4 standard means it can withstand ‘water splashes.’ So, it’s perhaps best not to place the AquaSound WSP20 directly under your shower!

How do I connect my Aduro AquaSound WSP20 Bluetooth speaker?

Like the Aduro LED Bluetooth speaker, the Aduro Bluetooth shower speaker has no audio-in, so you have to pair it to a Bluetooth device, which is easy enough.

It has Bluetooth 4.0 and, like the AMPLIFY LED, is compatible with all Smartphones and Tablets, including Apple iPhone, iPad, Galaxy, Android, and all Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Is the Aduro AquaSound WSP20 good value?

Yes. For a tiny sum, the Aduro AquaSound Bluetooth shower speaker with mic and controls is a fun speaker you can use in the shower or the pool.

The Bonbon Bluetooth shower speaker is very similar but costs a little more. A reasonable alternative is the Soundbot SB510, but again, this is a few dollars more than the Aduro WSP20.

  • Bass could be better

What do you get alongside the Aduro AMPLIFY in the box?

How well is the Aduro AMPLIFY built and designed?

All Aduro Amplify Bluetooth speaker reviews mention the design, and rightly so. I just love the retro and minimalist design of the AMPLIFY.

It’s a simple disk, 10.4 x 7.1 x 3.5 inches, weighing 13.6 ounces. In keeping with its minimalist credentials, it only comes in one color, silver.

There are no controls on the speaker itself, only a DC and USB input on the side.

What does the Aduro AMPLIFY sound like?

Despite its name, the Aduro AMPLIFY Bluetooth wireless speaker doesn’t produce that much volume. To make up for this, however, the sound it does provide is remarkably clear, with a nice, if not epic, bass.

However, you can pair two together and use them in stereo, which would be awesome.

How long does the Aduro AMPLIFY battery last?

The rechargeable battery is also good, lasting 8-10 hours between charges and only needing an hour to recharge.

Is the Aduro AMPLIFY waterproof?

No, the AMPLIFY is not designed to get wet.

How do I connect my Aduro AMPLIFY Bluetooth speaker?

Like all the Aduro Bluetooth speakers reviewed in this article, the AMPLIFY has no audio-in and uses Bluetooth to connect to a range of Bluetooth-enabled devices, including Apple iPhone, smartphones, and tablets.

Is the Aduro AMPLIFY good value?

Yes. The main reason to buy the AMPLIFY is the funky design, and the only similar speaker to it is the Owlee Aviary Wireless Bluetooth Speaker on Amazon, which is nearly 9 times as much.

  • Didn’t pair immediately
  • Nothing else

What do you get alongside the Aduro Wireless Portable in the box?

How well is the Aduro Wireless Portable built and designed?

I love the feel of this palm-sized, knitted speaker. Just 3.75 x 3.75 x 1.50 inches, it’s one of the lightest speakers in this Aduro Bluetooth speaker review at only 4.4 ounces.

It comes in a range of colors;

  • Black/Grey
  • Blue/Grey
  • Green/White
  • Turquoise/Purple

The controls that are often on the front of this type of speaker are positioned on the back:

  • Play/ Pause
  • Next track/Volume up
  • Previous Track/Volume down
  • Answer/End call

There’s also a Power ON/OFF switch and a USB on the side protected from water by a flap.

What does the Aduro Wireless Portable sound like?

The sound is surprisingly crisp and crystal clear with a reasonable amount of volume given the unit’s size. Like the  AquaSound WSP20, it’s not intended for drums and bass fanatics, but it entirely handles most middle of the range musical genres.

How long does the Aduro Wireless Portable battery last?

The battery and performance are similar to the AquaSound WSP20, so you get around 8 hours of music streaming from about 1 hour of recharging.

Is the Aduro Wireless Portable waterproof?

Yes. Like the AquaSound WSP20, it’s waterproof to IPX4 standard, so it’s splashproof.

How do I connect my Aduro Wireless Portable Bluetooth speaker?

As with the other Aduro speakers in this review, it uses Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to a wide range of Bluetooth enabled devices.

Is the Aduro Wireless Portable good value?

Yes. The JBL JR POP on Amazon is a few dollars more and designed for kids, while its other rival, the Altec Lansing Mini H2O on Amazon is more waterproof, but costs 40% more.

  • Fabric cover
  • Compact size
  • USB & MicroSD slot

  • That’s it

What do you get alongside the Aduro Resound Mini Wireless in the box?

  • Micro-USB charging cable
  • User guide

How well is the Aduro Resound Mini Wireless built and designed?

I love the look of this simple, cylindrical Bluetooth speaker. Like the Aduro Wireless Portable Bluetooth speaker, it’s got a knitted cover that gives it a unique look and feel.

It comes in two colors, black or blue, a compact 3 x 3.75 x 3 inches, and 13 ounces, making it the same weight as the AMPLIFY.

The controls are placed in the base of the unit and consist of:

  • Power ON/OFF
  • Play/Pause
  • Next track/Volume up
  • Previous Track/Volume down
  • Answer/End call

There’s also a USB & Micro SD slot on the side, protected by a flap.

What does the Aduro Resound Mini Wireless sound like?

The unit has one, 6-watt driver giving plenty of volume for a speaker this size. The other good news is the bass, which is stellar for a Bluetooth speaker this size and cost.

There’s no evident distortion unless you turn it to the max, either.

How long does the Aduro Resound Mini Wireless battery last?

The rechargeable battery is excellent as well, giving around 8-10 hours streaming music while recharging takes a reasonable 2-3 hours.

Is the Aduro Resound Mini Wireless waterproof?

No, but a few drops won’t hurt it.

How do I connect my Aduro Resound Mini Wireless Bluetooth speaker?

The Resound Mini Wireless uses the same Bluetooth 4.0 as the other Aduro speakers in this review. Like them, it is compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled devices, including iPhones and Smartphones.

Is the Aduro Resound Mini Wireless good value?

Yes. The only real rivals are the EWA Mini Bluetooth Speaker and the Braven BRV-Mini each on Amazon. The EWA is a little more expensive and has a richer sound, but no MicroSD slot, while the Braven is almost twice the price, more waterproof, but again has no MicroSD slot.
